About Plant Biotechnology
Plant Biotechnology is an international, open-access, and online journal, published every three months by the Japanese Society for Plant Biotechnology (JSPB). Plant Biotechnology publishes original and high-impact papers, with a quick turnaround time for reviewing, on molecular and cell biology, physiology, genetics, breeding, tissue culture, cellular and metabolic engineering, transgenic and genome-editing technologies, synthetic biology, and bioinformatics. The aim of Plant Biotechnology is to publish papers that provide new insight into plant biology at the cellular, tissue, organ, and organismal levels. In addition, Plant Biotechnology publishes Special Issues covering a range of trending topics in plant biotechnology, molecular and cell biology, and engineering.
Plant Biotechnology was first established in 1984 as the predecessor journal “Plant Tissue Culture Letters,” and became its present form in 1997 when the society was renamed as the Japanese Society for Plant Cell and Molecular Biology. The society’s name was changed again in 2020, becoming JSPB. Our current impact factor is 1.4 (2023).
